Zotac GeForce GTX 480 Reviews

april 23 2010 review by ultimatehardware

Zotac GeForce GTX 480

The Zotac GeForce GTX 480 uses the GTX 480 GPU running at 700Mhz with 1536MB Gddr5 Memory at 3696Mhz with 480 Shader Processors with DirectX11.

ATI has the Radeon HD 5970 wich is app. 15% dearer, has a 5% higher GPU Core Clock, 8% higher Memory Clock, 30% more Memory, and has 666% more shader processors!!

Compared to: The MSI Radeon HD 5970.

Conclusion:

Since the 5970 is about 15% more expensive, you would expect the difference in results being about the same. In Left for Dead 2, Metro 2033 and Just Cause 2, the distance between the two cards was more than 15%, and in some cases even more than 30%.

The Zotac GTX 480 is a good graphics card with a good performance, it gets a little hot though and the fan becomes a bit noisy.

Benchmarks:

DAWN OF WAR 2, Left 4 Dead, Resident Evil 5, Just Cause 2, Metro 2033.

Test Setup:

CPU: AMD PHENOM II X4 920 -- Mainboard: MSI K9A2 PLATINUM 790 FX chipset -- Memory: CORSAIR 2x2GB DDR2 XMS2 DOMINATOR -- OS: WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE

Overclocking: There are no overclock results.

Tested model: ZT-40101-10P
