Intel is considering to bundle a liquid cooling solution with its next-generation high-end processors, being the
Intel Sandy Bridge E series (SNB-
E). The liquid-based cooler will allow Intel's Extreme Edition (XE) microprocessors to work at even higher frequencies and thus
offer higher performance overall.
Asetek and CoolIT Systems are probaly the the companies that are capable of producing this cooler for Intel, it's not sure though
who's getting the 'contract'.
Thanks to a number of micro-architectural enhancements of Sandy Bridge, the new line of extreme processors promises to be very fast.
It remains to be seen whether hexacore Intel processors will be able to outperform octacore CPUs from AMD, which are due to be
released in mid 2011.
