Model No: KHX2400C9D3T1FK2/4GX -- 4GB (Kit of 2) 2400MHz DDR3 Non-ECC -- Latency: CL9 9-11-9-27 -- Voltage: 1.65V
The new 2400MHz Kingston memory seems to be the fastest Intel-certified memory in the world. Intel has certified this memory for their P55 motherboards,
in this case Intel guarantees that the Core i7 860 and 870 will work with these dimms on the LGA 1156 socket @2400MHz.
The Kit that has been tested by the reviewers is a pre-release, since the memory is not yet on the market. The Package come with a heatsink/heatspreader with two fans and covers the two dimms.
Test Setup:
CPU: Core i7 860 -- Mainboard: MSI P55-GD65 -- Graphics Card: Asus Radeon HD5870 1GB -- Processor Cooler: Cooler Master Hyper 212 Plus -- PSU: Corsair HX1000 -- OS: W7 x64
Benchmarks:
Sisoft Sandra Memory and Multimedia, WinRAR, Pi 32M with the 2:12 divider.
These sticks were tested @1600, 2000, 2260 and 2400 MHz in the Sandra and WinRAR benchmarks.
The Sandra Multimedia test shows a gradual increase in par with the increase in MHz. Winrar however reaches its highest performance when the memory was clocked @2000MHz.
The high frequencies are very fast but the timings are quite loose, so the performance gain is less than expected of these speeds.
Overclocking:
The reviewer OCed it to 2500MHz.
Conclusion:
If you want to go for the highest overclock results these sticks might do the trick, considering how they already do DDR3-2500 on air, higher results will probably be possible, the system ran Super Pi 32M at DDR3-2500 again and again.
Processors like the i5 750, i7 860, 870, and 875x will probably run well with these sticks. The results with a Core i5 670 were horrible because of to the terrible memory controller Clarkdale processors have.
